Vita Coco, the leading coconut water brand, launched in 2004 when two friends, Michael Kirban and Ira Liran learned about the tropical elixir after a chance encounter at a New York City bar. Not only did their discovery bring coconut water into the mainstream beverage aisle, it rebranded coconut water as a premium lifestyle drink and helped propel the trend of natural-functional beverages. Fast forward 15 years, and Vita Coco is available in 30 countries and has expanded coconut water into new occasions with innovations like Vita Coco Pressed, Coconut mlk, and Coconut Oil.

As our Social Media Specialist - Sports, Pop Culture & Emerging Trends, you'll work at home Mondays and Fridays and In office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Reporting directly to our Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for creating viral content focusing on sports, pop culture, and emerging trends.

This is a full-time, Mon-Fri internship role with a 3-month contract and the possibility of extension based on performance.

Main Responsibilities:

Social Content
• Follow and interact with viral sports pages, and sports influencers.
• Spend a lot of time on the TikTok FYP page, commenting on good videos.
• Pitch video ideas that are universally funny, whether or not they are trends.
• Create the content ideas you pitch.
• Copywriting in the DMs, comments, skits, etc.
• Act as a talent scout for unique creators who can produce solid content for Vita Coco.
• Set the bar for what it means to produce meaningful, hilarious, and entertaining social content.

Analytics
• Be a tracking wizard, spotting when Vita Coco is mentioned in videos on social media.
• Keep track of TikTok and Instagram performance metrics.
• Analyze successful strategies of other brands (yes, we know Duolingo is killing it right now) and explain why they work.

Qualifications:
• Be a sports guru.
• Has a crazy daily screen time.
• Has a way with words.
• Has at least 1 year of previous brand experience managing TikTok.
• Knows how to make engaging TikToks.
• Eager to learn and master new skills.
• Excellent communicator.
• Results-driven, with a proven ability to build an engaged social media following.
• Comfortable being in front of or behind the camera in public (and wearing a Vita Coco costume).
• Organized, open to travel, and doesn't want to sit at a desk all day

At The Vita Coco Company, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include but are not limited to: skill set, experience, education, training, licensure and certifications, knowledge and abilities of the applicant, alignment with market data, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $22.00-$24.00 an hour. This range may vary for positions that will be performed outside of California, Colorado, Nevada, New York City, Westchester County, NY, Rhode Island, or Washington.
