Full Job Description: Port Signworks is looking for talented, dedicated employees to join our team.
Job Description: - Sign Production Installer performs production, installation, and removal of signs and graphics for existing and new clients. He or she will produce and install signs of all sizes and mediums on various poles, buildings, and other structures using a wide range of tools.
- Assembling signs from computer-cut vinyl as well as from wide format full-color printouts. Sign assembly includes correctly preparing substrates and applying vinyl according to written instructions.
- jobs may include the installation of vinyl graphics, vehicle wraps, signage, and vinyl lettering to vehicles. Installation of floor graphics or vinyl graphics on walls and windows. Cutting and shaping graphics to fit each .surface, heating and applying graphics, using proper adherence and cutting techniques during application.
- The ideal candidate needs to be a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player. who is determined to provide outstanding service to our customers?
- The ability to lift more than 50 lbs and work at heights greater than 10 feet is required.
- Previous production and installation experience is a plus. Candidates must be committed to safety and must have the physical ability to perform the requirements of the job.
- Graphic Design Capabilities would be a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Confirms signs accurately conform to the work order (i.e., spelling, medium, size, etc.)
- Operate the large format, full-color printer, plotter, laminator, and application table, including loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the use of accurate settings.
- Prepare substrates for application, including cutting, laminating, painting, etc.
- Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Be able to use multiple weeding techniques.* Check the finished product, matching with the electronic work order as a final quality control check.
- Loads and transports signs to the installation location.
- Prepares worksite by removing previous signage (if necessary), preparing surfaces, and ensuring all electrical sources are in order (if applicable).
- Follows all safety policies and procedures during preparation and installation.
- Installs signs in strict compliance with the work order.
- Cleans installation site when work is complete.
- Performs a quality control review and reports findings to supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous sign installation experience preferred.
- Basic electrical/wiring knowledge. (a plus but not necessary)
- Safety and customer service oriented.
- Professional and dependable.
- Be organized with strong attention to detail.
- Graphic Design Software Knowledge is a plus, as are basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Must be able to work with a professional set of hand tools.
- Must be physically able to perform sign installations, which include lifting, climbing, and working at heights greater than 10 feet.
- Manlift and Bucket Truck Certified. (or willing to obtain)
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record.
