Job Description

Process Engineer (chemical engineer) Pasadena, TX A refinery needs a chemical process engineer to work throughout the operation. This is a relatively junior or potentially mid-level position (not compensation) Key must-haves:

• 3 +/- years in a chemical, petrochemical or refining operations
• Degree in engineering; prefer chemical engineering

The position:

• Provide process engineering support, to production and operations throughout the refinery
• Support continuous improvement programs
• Design and implement improvements to process areas
• Work with senior engineers and project managers on major projects and turnarounds
• Engineering support with PHAs thought plant
• Support formal MOC
• Process optimization including usign simulation software (i.e. Petro-SIM, HYSIS, ProMax, etc)
• Increasing responsibility for all classic areas of process engineering with increasing experience.
• Coordinate with site ops manager, maintenance manager, safety manager, etc.

Required/preferred:

• 1-4 years* of experience in a chemical, petrochemical or refining operation (under PSM regulations)
• 4 year degree in engineering; prefer chemical engineering
• Some experience in process simulation/modeling software as noted
• A nice human being to work with! Yes, a technical job, but all work is done by colleagues, not pipes and pumps!
• Must not need, now or at any point in the future, a visa
