Job Description
Summary The Strategic Sourcing Principal is a key leadership role within Honeywell FM&T's Integrated Supply Chain. This role manages the overall strategic direction associated within the assigned commodities. It is responsible for proactively developing sourcing strategies that are aligned with business and program needs and then driving execution of those strategies while ensuring quality, delivery, and cost targets are exceeding expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities - Develops and implements commodity strategies for assigned production materials such as connectors, cables, machined parts and raw materials.
- Ensures managed commodities and sub commodities have enough reserved or locked capacity to meet the rapidly increasing organizational demand.
- Creates commodity roadmaps enabling the achievement of critical business targets as well as improving ease of business on a repetitive basis, focusing on future internal requirements, supplier technology road maps, capabilities, capacities, and ultimately supplier selection.
- Provides the evaluation of vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and sourcing analysis techniques and implementation of proper contracts with emphasis on quality, delivery, total cost, and service necessary to meet requirements.
- Owns Supplier relationships and drives internal commodity alignment by managing vendor relationships and negotiating multi-year agreements with strategic partners.
- Develops and implements a communication plan to gain internal support in driving the implementation of commodity strategies while serving as the point of contact for execution.
- Demonstrates accountability and knowledge on market dynamics, benchmarks, legislation, and key drivers of assigned commodities.
- Fosters relationships directly with the Design Agencies to ensure New Product Introduction aligns with commodity and business strategies and offers the maximum contribution to organizational goals.
- Ensures compliance with business policies and procedures and export/import regulations.
You Must Have - Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
- Minimum of 10 years of applicable professional experience in a manufacturing environment
- US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Department of Energy security clearance

- Excellent presentation skills while being highly proficient technical skills in MS Office Suite and knowledge of E-Procurement Applications desired
- Superiority in utilizing strategic integrative thinking and linking it to sourcing strategies
- Knowledge of government contracting requirements including a working understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Advanced degree, ISM, CPSM certification, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
