What To Expect
The NPI Technician prepares materials, conducts NPI builds, trials new materials, and maintains NPI core functions at a high standard. They execute efficiently, self-validate work, check quality, and meet critical deadlines. The role involves providing constructive feedback, defining/iterating standard work, and suggesting process improvements. The NPI Technician leads in production readiness, mentors associates, and upholds high-quality standards. Responsibilities include hands-on product build validations, collaboration with cross-functional teams for factory readiness, and meeting critical timelines, Experience with hand tools, machine tools, and semi-automated/automated manufacturing equipment is necessary, with significant experience in electrical, automotive, energy, or mechanical area being a plus. What You'll Do Support Engineering in prototyping and provide iterative feedback for continuous improvementPerform electro-mechanical assembly independently while collaborating effectively handling various operations, troubleshooting, and reworking with a strong understanding of functional operationAssist NPI Project Engineers and Technical Program Managers in all product introduction phases, from launch to sustaining and aid in trials for new parts to ensure smooth ProductionEnsure high-quality activities, including self-inspection and thorough process checksWork on multiple projects simultaneously, interacting with teams, and addressing priority tasksEfficiently complete tasks within manufacturing schedules, ensuring a clean and orderly work area, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, and prioritization of health and safety, encompassing responsibilities such as updating production records, communicating test results, and reporting discrepant materialsDemonstrate a quick and flexible approach to problem-solving, task management, and collaboration
What You'll Bring Demonstrates a basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and capable of performing repetitive duties while standing for extended periods and lifting 30-50 lbs dailyProficient in reading manufacturing instructions and mechanical drawings, exhibiting high craftsmanship, attention to detail, and efficient work, with strong communication skills in English, both written and verbalFunctions well as a team player in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment, demonstrating reliability, initiative, commitment, and effective time managementBrings one to three years of experience in automotive, high tech, or similar high-volume/high complexity manufacturing, showcasing exceptional abilityAn Associate degree, or equivalent experience. Work experience is considered valuable; having experience in energy product manufacturing, technical lead skills, and a strong commitment to the company’s mission with command of the English language, both written and verbalProficient in welding techniques, with the ability to perform high-quality welds ensuring structural integrity and durability in mechanical and electrical systemsStrong understanding of power electronics, including the assembly, testing, and integration of electronic components, circuits, and systems in energy products

Expected Compensation
$27.45 - $40.36/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
