Job Description

Hospitality and Special Events Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations during a PGA-sanctioned golf tournament. This includes managing vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality guest experiences, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating logistics for concessions and hospitality areas.

Job Responsibilities

• Vendor Management
  • Select, contract, and manage food and beverage vendors.
  • Ensure vendors meet quality, service, and compliance standards.
  • Coordinate vendor setup, operations, and teardown.
• Operational Oversight
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive food and concessions plan.
  • Oversee layout and logistics of concession stands, hospitality tents, and VIP areas.
  • Monitor inventory, staffing, and service levels throughout the event.
• Budget & Financial Management
  • Manage food and beverage budgets, including forecasting and cost control.
  • Track revenue and expenses, and provide post-event financial reporting.
• Guest Experience
  • Ensure a high-quality, consistent culinary experience for all attendees.
  • Address customer service issues and implement improvements as needed.
• Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all food operations comply with local health codes and PGA standards.
  • Coordinate with security and safety teams to maintain a safe environment.
• Team Leadership
  • Supervise on-site food service staff and volunteers.
  • Provide training and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for food-related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with tournament leadership, sponsors, and hospitality partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in large-scale event food service or hospitality management
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and vendor operations
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to manage budgets and vendor contracts
• Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Prior experience with PGA or similar sporting events preferred
