UAA is seeking to fill one position in our Fleet Transportation Shop for an Equipment Maintenance Tech as either MSW4, CT1, or CT2 based on years of relatable experience. We are a high-paced shop that offers many roles on the UAA campus. We handle all logistics of moving large items on campus. We handle all repairs of electric, gas and diesel equipment and vehicles at UAA campus.
To thrive in this role the candidate must know how to repair multiple types of equipment from lawn mowers, to vehicles, to heavy equipment and generators, be able to switch roles from manual labor, to repair, to preventive maintenance, and operating multiple equipment daily and be able to troubleshoot with online software and paper manuals. Keep updated work order logs online for proper billing, and have experience with welding and fabricating for different repairs.

The successful candidate will help provide service with mechanical skills helping to ensure the longevity and safety of campus equipment for our campus users. The Facilities Maintenance & Operations Department maintains approximately 3 million square feet of building space on the UAA campus in a variety of trades with over 350 total assets including vehicles, generators, and equipment maintained by the Fleet Shop.

A minimum of 3 to 10 years related experience and/or training, such as a certificate of completion from a technical school, on job training, educational classes taken, or ASE test passed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Details:
This position is located on the UAA Main campus in Anchorage. This position is full-time, forty-hour work week, with overtime as required with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UAA has flexible work programs available to eligible employees who have successfully completed the probationary period. These programs are subject to University business needs and compliance with active labor union contracts. Typical work hours are 7am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
