The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) reports to the Dean of Columbia College and serves as the senior officer overseeing the day-to-day financial and administrative teams within the Columbia College Office of the Dean that support the College functional units including admissions and financial aid, academic affairs and advising, undergraduate student life, career education, global engagement, and alumni relations and development.
In collaboration with the Dean and members of the College???s leadership team, the CFAO oversees the College???s operating budget, manages the administrative operations, and promotes the optimal utilization of financial resources through robust planning to effectively and efficiently meet the College???s mission and strategic priorities in support of future, current and former students, faculty and other key constituencies. The CFAO is responsible for creating the overall strategy for the finance and administrative functions, ensuring integration and productive collaboration across the College and between the Arts and Sciences and other University and external partnerships. With a focus on operational excellence and service, the CFAO is a forward-thinking and participative leader responsible for finance administration and strategic planning, human resources, information technology, and facilities operations and space planning. This position has responsibility for managing an annual operating budget of nearly $500 million.
The CFAO leads efforts to continuously improve the College???s finances and administrative operations with a can-do attitude and solutions-oriented approach. The incumbent will develop a comprehensive understanding of all major internal and external programs of the College and work collaboratively across the College and all its stakeholders to effectively manage the budget and administrative operations.
