Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech
Location: North Providence, RI 02904
Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM 4x10-Hour
Job Duration: 13 weeks

Job Description:

• As a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST), you will play a critical role in supporting the surgical team by ensuring a sterile environment, preparing instruments, and assisting during procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to provide high-quality care in a variety of surgical cases, including trauma. This position requires advanced technical skills, adaptability, and a commitment to aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during surgical procedures by providing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
• Ensure proper reprocessing of scopes and probes.
• Apply aseptic techniques and enforce sterile procedures.
• Handle patient positioning and draping in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Maintain accurate records of supplies, instruments, and procedures within the MediTech documentation system.
• Communicate effectively using SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation).
• Assist with patient transport and care before and after procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure patient safety and smooth flow of operations.

Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years required.

Certifications:

• BLS certification required.

Skills:

• Scrubbing for surgical procedures.
• Aseptic technique.
• Scope and probe reprocessing skills.
• Preferred Experience:
• Trauma surgery experience.
• Community hospital experience.
