Overview

We are seeking a passionate, responsible and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while expertly preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your ability to engage with customers and provide exceptional service will contribute to an enjoyable experience that keeps them coming back.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Operate the Toast POS system for processing transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas.
• Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with their experience.
• Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling practices.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages as needed.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the safe preparation and handling of food items.

Pay

• $15 per hour plus tips

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the food service or coffee industry is preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn fast and multitask in one of the busiest coffee shops in Frederick County.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for accurate cash handling and sales reporting.
• Knowledge of food safety practices is essential.
• Ability to operate POS systems; experience with Toast POS is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as show up on time and prepared to stay busy.
