Job Description:
Bluepoint Assistant Winemaker Internship
Queen Anne & Baltimore, Maryland
Bluepoint Hospitality is an estate winery project in development on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This exciting new endeavor includes two beautiful vineyard sites on two large farms in Queen Anne. Vineyard development started in 2020, with 3 acres planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay. Additional blocks were planted from 2020 to 2023 with the goal of determining optimal clonal and varietal selections to make ultra-premium wines from these distinct sites. We currently have 16 acres under vine and anticipate production from 5 of those acres in the 2024 harvest.
We have a talented and collaborative team who has been designing and executing our vineyard plan as well as managing and executing the farming. The wines will be made at a nearby winery in Baltimore until our estate winery is completed. We are seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented individual to join our team who will work closely with renowned Winemaker Helen Keplinger and the facility winemaker to manage and ensure the highest quality in all winemaking practices, as well as supporting the vineyard team.
The Assistant Winemaker Internship position is a dynamic role with involvement in the vineyard and winery, with the potential to grow into a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity to learn, collaborate, and be involved with an exceptional new wine estate. The Assistant Winemaker intern will work closely with and report directly to Winemaker Helen Keplinger and collaborate with the entire vineyard team.
