We’re looking for an Assistant Designer to join our Design Team here at Chubbies (required to be in Austin). This person will be responsible for articulating the Chubbies brand, through our product assortment. Support the Design team through the execution of all pre-season and post-adoption responsibilities throughout the entire product life cycle.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research trends in the menswear market with a focus on performance product categories
• Support the development of seasonal prototypes by creating flat sketches and supporting sketches to convey design intent
• Create and maintain inspirational design presentation boards for design meetings
• Responsible for building and maintaining accurate tech packs in our PLM system
• Work with design and sourcing teams to develop new fabrics and trims
• Attend and provide support for weekly fit reviews
• Maintain accurate and organized records of design materials
• Support the Design Team in meeting calendar milestones and deadlines
• Review samples w/ Senior Design and update relevant materials to reflect changes

Qualifications:

• 2-4 year degree in apparel or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in apparel industry
• Advanced knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to flat sketch menswear
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Google Office software
• Demonstrated pattern and color sense
• Understanding of garment fit and construction
• Strong communication skills
• Organized and highly motivated
